McLaren Greater Lansing (Mich.), part of Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care, will open a 15-bed inpatient behavioral health unit on Oct. 1 through a partnership with Clarksville, Ind.-based Brightwell Behavioral Health.

Brightwell will oversee clinical and administrative operations for the adult inpatient unit, which will be located within McLaren Greater Lansing’s main campus, according to a news release shared with Becker’s. The unit will be staffed by psychiatrists, nurses, therapists and caregivers employed by Brightwell.

Referrals will come from McLaren’s emergency department, local primary care providers and community-based organizations to ensure timely access to care.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
