The Centra Behavioral Health Hospital will be approximately 75,000 square feet and have 72 beds, according to a March 2 news release.

Centra and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, also based in Brentwood, entered a separate joint venture partnership in 2022 to build a freestanding, 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital.

Lifepoint Behavioral Health and Lifepoint Rehabilitation are both business units of Lifepoint Health.

Both the behavioral health and rehabilitation facilities will be in Lynchburg on property Centra purchased in 2017 to form a new specialty care medical campus.

Construction for the behavioral health hospital is slated to begin in summer 2024 and open in 2025.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
