Topeka, Kan.-based Stormont Vail Health has opened the Stormont Vail Outpatient Behavioral Health Center, expanding access to outpatient mental healthcare services for children and adults.

The center offers individualized treatment plans, psychiatric evaluations, medication management and therapeutic interventions delivered by multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers and therapists, according to a Feb. 20 news release from the system.

“Our goal is to help patients of all ages build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies and thrive,” Brad Chapin, director of clinical services, said in the release. “This new outpatient facility ensures continuity of care and a smooth transition from inpatient services or community referrals, while keeping patients connected to the resources they need close to home.”

Stormont serves patients across 68 counties in Kansas and includes 38 behavioral health providers. In its fiscal year 2025, the team delivered 43,835 behavioral health visits to 8,835 individuals, including more than 20,000 telehealth sessions.
