Geisinger, Acadia propose 2nd joint venture behavioral hospital

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System is partnering with Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare and the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius congregation to build an inpatient behavioral hospital in Mahoning Township, Pa., pending approval of the final land purchase.

If approved, the Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Danville will be a single-story, 96-bed facility, Geisinger said March 22. It is one of two joint venture behavioral health hospitals Geisinger and Acadia are building. 

The land sits on the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius congregation’s property in Mahoning Township.
