The organization plans to use the funds to create and distribute mental health content to young people, according to a Feb. 15 news release from Rare Beauty, the makeup brand behind the Rare Impact Fund.
The funds will be distributed among five youth mental health organizations:
- Black Teacher Project, which provides support and resources to Black teachers.
- The Friends of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at the University of California Los Angeles, which researches mental health treatments and sponsors educational programs.
- Konscious Youth Development and Services, a New Jersey organization that teaches mindfulness and social and emotional learning to students, teachers and their families.
- Mindful Life Project, which hosts mindfulness workshops and provides mental and emotional support to students in Northern California.
- Trans Lifeline, a hotline and advocacy organization that provides emotional and financial support to members of the trans community.
Additionally, the Rare Impact Fund renewed financial support to seven organizations it has supported in the past, according to the release.
