The Players Championship Village — the charitable arm of the Players Championship, part of the Professional Golf Association Tour — was originally formed to provide substance abuse treatment for youth ages 13 through 17.
The new unit will add 20 inpatient beds and will join Wolfson’s existing 14-bed Larry J. Freeman Behavioral Health Unit, which provides inpatient and outpatient pediatric mental health services, and an eight-bed behavioral health pod in the hospital’s emergency center.
It is slated to open in spring 2024. The hospital is continuing to raise funding for the unit.
Wolfson Children’s is a part of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health.
