Fort Myers, Fla.-based SalusCare is searching for a new site for its Cape Coral, Fla., location, the Naples Daily News reported June 13.
The site, which provided behavioral health services, sustained significant damage during Hurricane Ian in 2022. The site has been closed since, and in May, Cape Coral terminated SalusCare’s lease on the site, according to the Daily News.
SalusCare provided behavioral healthcare to 900 patients through the Cape Coral location. Most of these patients have received care through telehealth since the building’s damage, and some commute to the system’s Fort Myers location.
As a nonprofit, SalusCare is not in a position to purchase a new site, CEO Stacey Cook told the Daily News. The organization is seeking a partnership or building donation to open a new location in Cape Coral, she said.
