Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth Health could take over a state-run residential treatment facility in Hampstead, N.H., the New Hampshire Bulletin reported Dec. 3.
State officials will vote on an agreement this week to allow Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, a branch of Dartmouth Health, to lease and operate Hampstead Hospital and Residential Treatment Facility.
The state bought the 40-bed facility in 2022, according to the Bulletin. The state dropped Wellpath Recovery Solutions, the previous operator of the facility in May, after ongoing issues with waitlists for beds, the outlet reported.
Wellpath filed for bankruptcy in November.
Under the agreement, Dartmouth Health would pay $1.2 million to lease the hospital for the first year. The amount will increase by 2.5% annually, the Bulletin reported.
