Sacramento, Calif.-based Crestwood Behavioral Health has opened a new mental health rehabilitation center in Selma, Calif., according to an Oct. 29 report from the Mid Valley Times.
The Crestwood Selma Wellness Center will treat up to 40 individuals at a time who have been charged with a felony and found incompetent to stand trial. The facility will provide trauma-informed, justice-partnered recovery services in collaboration with the California Department of State Hospitals, according to the report.
Crestwood said the Selma location will not discharge patients directly into the community. Individuals will be transferred to the state for continued care after completing treatment. While on-site, they will participate in a structured program that includes counseling, nursing supervision, peer support groups, fitness activities and pre-employment training.
The center also created more than 50 jobs in the area. It is one of more than 30 Crestwood facilities across the state, according to the report.
