Health Net, a Centene subsidiary, and the Centene Foundation are investing $6 million to develop the St. Vincent Behavioral Health Campus in Los Angeles.

The campus located on the former St. Vincent Medical Center site will combine behavioral health services and housing in a single setting, according to an April 2 news release from the company. Development will occur in phases, with services becoming available throughout 2027.

The project will include 172 units of permanent housing and 205 behavioral health bridge housing beds, alongside crisis care, treatment and care coordination services.

The investment builds on Health Net’s behavioral health efforts. Between 2021 and January 2026, the organization dedicated $2.07 million to community-based behavioral health initiatives, the release said.

Health Net serves more than 3 million members through a network of more than 117,000 providers and employs more than 5,700 people in the state.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
