Louisville, Ky.-based BrightSpring operates more than 2,000 residential homes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral conditions, according to a Jan. 21 news release.

Sevita, based in Boston, provides care for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, complex care needs and individuals with autism.

BrightSpring’s community living business has around 13,500 employees, according to the release. The transaction is expected to close in 2025.

The sale will allow BrightSpring to focus on its other divisions, including home health and hospice care, rehabilitation services and primary care, the company said.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
