The donation from the Ballmer Group, a national nonprofit organization focused on economic mobility and equity, will be used to integrate in-school support programs at 1,000 low-income schools, according to a Feb. 14 news release from Communities in Schools. The programs aim to connect students with services designed to support their health, well-being and educational success. The organization has already served more than 1.8 million children at its established programs in 3,270 schools and community sites.
The donation is the largest ever received by Communities in Schools in its 45 years of operation, according to the release.
