Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth is awarding more than $2 million in grants over three years to eight nonprofit organizations in Central Florida focused on mental healthcare and workforce training.
The grants, distributed through AdventHealth’s Collaborative Community Council, aim to address key challenges in the region, including limited access to mental health services and economic instability despite full-time employment, according to a Nov. 20 news release from the health system.
The funding will support initiatives such as expanding outpatient services, free mental health clinics, clinical staffing, peer support for youths, and employment and training programs for underserved residents.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
