Here are eight new and in-the-works behavioral health facilities to know:
- Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 4, NBC affiliate KARE11 reported Sept. 10. The 144-bed facility, a joint venture between Fairview Health Services and Acadia Healthcare, is set to open to patients in late September.
- Buckeye Ranch, an Ohio-based nonprofit organization, plans to open a $35 million youth mental health treatment facility in Grove City, Ohio, by the end of the year.
- Blackbird Health, based in Pittsburgh, opened a pediatric mental health clinic in Doylestown, Pa. The clinic, for ages 2 to 26, will begin seeing new patients Sept. 15, with in-office visits starting Oct. 1, according to a Sept. 3 news release.
- The DuPage County (Ill.) Health Department opened a new crisis recovery center the first week of September in Wheaton, Ill., offering 24/7 mental health and substance use services, according to a Sept. 2 report from the Warrenville city website.
- Milledgeville, Ga.-based Veterans Transitional Support Unit opened Sept. 3, CBS affiliate 13WMAZ reported Sept. 2. The unit integrates skilled nursing care with comprehensive mental and behavioral health services.
- Irving-based New York Medical Center plans to convert the former Lakeshore Hospital in the city into a behavioral health and substance use recovery center. The $42 million project will convert the 173,000-square-foot facility in two phases, WRFA Radio reported Aug. 28.
- Greenville, N.C.-based ECU Health and Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare partnered to open ECU Health Behavioral Health Hospital, a 144-bed facility in Greenville. The facility is set to open its doors to patients in September, according to an Aug. 25 ECU Health news release.
- Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health unveiled a new 90,000-square-foot pediatric behavioral health center in West Taylorsville, Utah, on Aug 22. The Intermountain Health Primary Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Center opened to patients Sept. 6, according to an Aug. 22 news release.
