The 60,000-square-foot center will be owned and operated by the Health Care Authority of Palm Beach County, and will offer outpatient and inpatient care for children and adults.

Palm Beach County commissioners voted to provide $10 million to the cost of constructing the center, WLRN reported. Commissioners expressed concern with the proposed five-year timeline to construct the facility, WLRN reported, and urged the healthcare authority to speed up the project timeline.

A final site for the center has not yet been chosen, according to WLRN.  The completed facility is expected to be six to eight stories.
