$543M+ worth of mental health investments in 1 week

Here are six investments into mental healthcare reported by Becker's since May 15:

1. Legislators in Missouri approved $300 million for a new state behavioral health hospital, but Gov. Mike Parson has not signed off on it. The facility would replace the Center for Behavioral Health in Kansas City, which officials say is in disrepair.

2. California plans to invest $23.3 million to support students who are going to school to become substance use disorder counselors through its Earn and Learn Training Program. 

3. HHS pledged more than $200 million to support 988 suicide crisis hotlines and crisis support services. Here is a breakdown of the disbursement.

4. Villanova, Pa.-based Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health invested $16 million to create a career acceleration program for its employees to advance their qualifications over the next five years.

5. Joe Burrow, quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals NFL team, covered the cost of mental health treatment for 20 families at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. 

6. Routt County in Colorado received $3.6 million from the state's Department of Education School Health Professional Grant Program to provide mental health services among its school districts.
