The facility will cost $28 million, cleveland.com reported Feb. 10. The facility will be built on the former site of St. Vincent Charity Community Health Center, whose psychiatric emergency department closed in 2024.

The project is funded in part by The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County. It will be operated by The Centers, a Cleveland-based integrated healthcare provider.

The crisis center will provide short-term behavioral care, including urgent care, medication refills and linkage to other services, according to a Feb. 10 news release. It will employ about 200 caregivers and serve an estimated 17,000 people.

The facility is expected to open in fall 2026.
