2 Kansas behavioral health providers merge

Two Topeka, Kan.-based behavioral health organizations plan to combine

Family Service & Guidance Center and Valeo Behavioral Health Care intend to merge by Jan. 1, 2026, according to a Feb. 14 news release. 

Both organizations became Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics in 2024. The merger will create a single center without duplicating services, according to the release. No layoffs are expected as part of the merger, the organizations said. 

Family Service & Guidance Center has 335 employees, and Valeo Behavioral Health Care has 340 employees. The two organizations combined provide mental health and substance use treatment to over 11,000 people each year.
