2 health systems open behavioral facilities in Nevada

Two northern Nevada health systems opened new behavioral health facilities in February.

Reno-based Renown Health opened the Renown Crisis Care Center in Sparks on Feb. 20, alongside the state and Washoe County. The new facility will provide crisis response services for individuals needing psychiatric support in a specialized, therapeutic environment.

Northern Nevada Health System opened Northwest Specialty Hospital in Reno. The facility is an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center and serves patients in need of acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. 

The specialty hospital features 48 adult behavioral health beds and a 22-bed acute rehabilitation unit with a full-scale therapy gym and transitional apartment, according to a Feb. 5 news release.
