The money is a portion of the $5.5 million that has been distributed across the state to provide addiction outreach and engagement services to high-need individuals who lack access to services.
The grant comes from more than $2 billion in settlements from opioid manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies. A portion of this money will go toward local governments in their efforts to address the opioid epidemic, and the remaining funds will be used to implement prevention, treatment, harm reduction and recovery services, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.
