Roots Center for Advanced Recovery, located in Middletown, Conn.,  is one of 11 centers offering methadone medication-assisted treatment services across the state. Currently, around 185 patients in the county have to travel to other parts of the state to receive care, the report said.

The clinic will meet with the Department of Public Health and the Drug Enforcement Administration in the coming weeks before beginning to see patients, the report said.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
