Addiction foundation acquires Origins Behavioral Healthcare

Substance use prevention and education organization the Hanley Foundation has acquired Origins Behavioral Healthcare.

The acquisition includes all of Origins' locations across Texas and Florida, which includes the Hanley Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., according to a Dec. 8 news release. Through this acquisition, Origins will transition from a for-profit to a nonprofit structure.

The Hanley family founded the Hanley Center nearly 40 years ago and later sold it to Origins and spun off the foundation as a separate organization, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

Hanley Foundation currently employs 82 staff members and offers substance use addiction and mental health treatment to over 1,000 patients annually across Florida, in addition to offering prevention education programs to over 100,000 students, teachers and parents each year.
