$9M awarded to crisis stabilization services in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs has awarded almost $9 million in grant funding to four single county authorities across the state.

This funding will be used to expand or establish crisis stabilization services for Pennsylvania residents with concurrent mental health and substance use disorders, according to a Feb. 8 release from the department.

Grants of up to $3 million will be awarded to Dauphin County Drug and Alcohol Services, the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission, the Delaware County Department of Human Services, and the Blair County Drug and Alcohol Program.

These single county authorities serve residents in seven counties in the state, the release said. Funding will be used for construction, staffing and programming and was awarded to the grantees based on their capacity to recognize and treat substance use disorders, mental health disorders and developmental disabilities.
