6 new programs, grants for substance use disorder treatment

Here are six addiction treatment updates Becker's has reported on in July:

  1. The Delaware Behavioral Health Consortium approved the distribution of $10 million to 38 organizations addressing the opioid crisis in the state.
  2. Lakeview Behavioral Health, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based mental health and substance use treatment center, added a program treating patients with gambling addictions.
  3. Florida-based Palm Point Behavioral Health opened a substance use detox program at its Titusville location.
  4. Discovery Behavioral Health, a treatment center network specializing in substance use and eating disorders based in Irvine, Calif., opened a new residential facility in Malibu offering medically assisted detox.
  5. The Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health, based in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., received a state-awarded grant of $306,250 to support underserved populations struggling with addiction.
  6. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health received a $2.38 million grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration to expand its substance use disorder services.
