The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs selected Mynd Immersive — a digital therapeutics platform — alongside Meta, to help expand immersive virtual reality therapy services to 45 more VA medical centers nationwide.
The effort is tied to the VA’s Pain Management, Opioid Safety and Prescription Drug Monitoring program, which aims to increase access to nonpharmacological treatment options for veterans experiencing chronic pain, anxiety, stress and isolation, according to an April 2 news release from Mynd Immersive.
The expansion follows earlier collaboration between the VA and Mynd, including a clinical study conducted across nine VA medical centers in Pennsylvania and a 2025 at-home pilot program in Biloxi, Miss., that reached more than 500 veterans.
Research conducted through the VA and Mynd found a nearly 35% average drop in distress levels, a 46.7% reduction in pain intensity and a 37% decrease in anxiety levels, the release said.
