The project to improve the psychiatric hospital includes the development of a new facility and enhanced services, according to a Feb. 6 news release from Gov. Dan McKee.

A study is being conducted to identify what mental health resources and care options the community needs most, according to the release. The study’s findings will shape the architectural and engineering plans for the hospital and determine the scope of the project.

Once the project is complete, patients and staff at the hospital’s current facility will be transitioned to the new location, the release said.
