In a $21.5 million project, Syracuse, N.Y.-based St. Joseph’s Health plans to move and renovate its 30-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, according to a Dec. 26 article from The Post-Standard.
St. Joseph’s Health cannot fully utilize the unit in its current state due to its low number of single rooms, so the hospital is often limited to 22 of its 30 beds, according to the report. A new two-story facility will feature more single rooms and more visibility.
St. Joseph’s Health expects the renovation to be complete by late 2027.
The hospital is a member of Trinity Health, a 92-hospital system based in Livonia, Mich.
