New York hospital closing adolescent mental health unit

Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Hospital temporarily closed its inpatient adolescent mental health unit due to workforce shortages, ABC affiliate News10 reported April 30.

The hospital told staff on April 29 of the decision to close, the report said. Advocacy group New York State Coalition for Children’s Behavioral Health is reaching out to a network of providers to avoid children slipping through the cracks, the report said.
