AdventHealth DeLand (Fla.) will develop an opioid use disorder recovery program using a $500,000 grant from the Volusia County Opioid Abatement Program.

The initiative, called RISE — Recovery, Initiative, Support and Education — will be operated by AdventHealth DeLand as part of its behavioral health services. The program aims to provide stability and care during the high-risk period following an emergency department visit or overdose, according to a Nov. 21 news release.

The RISE program will offer short-term medication support, counseling, housing and transportation assistance, and community education

AdventHealth DeLand is the only hospital in West Volusia offering inpatient mental healthcare and voluntary substance use disorder care, according to the release.
