Elizabeth, W.Va.-based Coplin Health Systems debuted a second mobile unit to expand its ability to reach patients facing barriers to traditional healthcare.
The mobile unit will offer medical and behavioral health services for patients of all ages, with a dedicated behavioral health room outfitted for children and adults, according to Nov. 7 news release from the health system. The first unit launched in February.
Coplin’s mobile team includes medical professionals and a community health worker who can connect patients to services addressing social factors such as housing, food access, transportation and education. Among the services provided are immunizations, health screenings, care for chronic conditions such as diabetes, treatment for minor illnesses and injuries and health education and wellness resources. The new unit will visit schools and community hubs, the release said.
