The National Council for Mental Wellbeing and the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors launched a pilot project to expand access to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics in Illinois, Kansas and Michigan.

The initiative, supported by a $72 million grant over three years from the Ballmer Group, aims to help states scale and sustain the CCBHC model through technical assistance and coordination with public agencies, providers and national partners, according to a Nov. 20 news release from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.

The funding is intended to expand community-based care, strengthen the behavioral health workforce and ensure more people receive timely mental health and substance use treatment, according to the release.
