Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine has received a $25 million gift to establish the Dauten Behavioral Health Institute.
The institute, based at Northwestern’s downtown campus, will serve as a systemwide hub to enhance care coordination, expand access and develop advanced behavioral health care models, according to a Nov. 19 news release. Its first major initiative will be the Bipolar Center of Excellence, focused on delivering interdisciplinary care and advanced research.
Howard Chrisman, MD, president and CEO of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, said the institute will advance clinical care, research and education in behavioral health.
The gift also supports programs for peer and employment support, emergency psychiatry, collaborative care models and pilot project funding.
