The Blackley center will be revamped into a 54-bed inpatient facility, the publication reported. Morrisville, N.C.-based UNC Health is leading the project, which could open as soon as July 1.

Adults in need of treatment for addiction will be given the option to continue care at other state treatment centers or private substance use disorder treatment providers, according to the report.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
