Cigna Healthcare collaborated with Magic Johnson to produce “Magic Sounds,” a six-track therapeutic album, according to a news release.
Cigna pulled from peer-reviewed research and worked with clinical experts and music therapists to determine tempo, frequency and instrumentation guidelines for the compositions. The album also uses evidence-based autonomous sensory meridian response, or ASMR, techniques.
“Our hope is that this album helps people develop better mental health habits and routines, with the ultimate goal of preventing everyday struggles from becoming bigger clinical problems,” said Stuart Lustig, MD, national medical executive for behavioral health at Evernorth, a subsidiary of Cigna.
All tracks will live across streaming platforms starting Nov. 14, and a single from the project, “Bounce,” is available now.
