Huntsville, Ala.-based WellStone is launching what it says is Alabama’s first mobile health clinic, according to a Nov. 3 report from CBS affiliate WHNT.
The “clinic on wheels” is designed to reach children and adults in Madison County who face barriers to traditional care such as transportation or scheduling.
The mobile unit will initially serve existing partners, including First Stop and the Downtown Rescue Mission. WellStone said a second van may be added in the future.
“We cannot wait for this van to be deployed in the coming weeks to increase access to mental health care,” WellStone CEO Jeremy Blair told WHNT.
