Dallas-based Metrocare has opened its $96 million Hillside Campus, marking the largest investment in the organization’s history and a major expansion of behavioral health access in Dallas County, according to an Oct. 20 report from the Dallas Morning News.
The 10-acre site was designed as a one-stop location for comprehensive mental health services, consolidating care for children, adults, families, veterans and individuals with disabilities. It includes a clinic, an on-site pharmacy, training and research facilities, and a cafeteria operated by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, according to the report.
Metrocare provides care for approximately 50,000 children and adults each year and aims to reach 13,000 more through the new campus.
Executives told the newspaper that the new facility was developed using trauma-informed design principles with input from clinicians, program leaders and the surrounding community.
