Mountlake Terrace, Wash.-based Premera Blue Cross is expanding access to behavioral healthcare through digital tools, provider partnerships and community partnerships.

The insurer has grown its behavioral health provider network in Washington by 48% over the past five years, adding nearly 4,000 clinicians, according to a Sept. 23 news release from the insurer.

Premera members have access to care through partners such as Spring Health, Rula, Headway and Talkspace, with some platforms offering nationwide access, online scheduling and guaranteed appointment times within two to three days, according to the release.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
