OhioHealth and Lifepoint Behavioral Health, a division of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health, have formed a joint venture to operate two behavioral health hospitals and associated outpatient sites in the Columbus, Ohio, area, according to a Sept. 11 news release.

The partnership covers Columbus Spring Dublin and Columbus Springs East — two 72-bed hospitals currently operated by Lifepoint Behavioral — and their Changes outpatient locations. Services include emergency mental healthcare, inpatient psychiatry and outpatient treatment programs.

OhioHealth staff from its Riverside Methodist Hospital unit and nearby outpatient site on Olentangy River Road will transition into the joint venture. Lifepoint will continue daily operations.

OhioHealth will maintain a behavioral unit at its Riverside location for medically complex patients.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
