Leavenworth, Kan.-based Saint John Hospital and Buffalo, N.Y.-based Erie County Medical Center tied for the lowest readmission rates among inpatient psychiatric facilities in the U.S., according to CMS data.
CMS gathered provider-level data on quality measures including transition records, screening for metabolic disorders, readmissions, medication continuation and more. The most recent report, updated January 8, collected data from 1,464 facilities between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2023.
The national readmission rate is 19.4.
