Ohio woman pleads guilty to stealing behavioral providers’ identities

An Ohio woman has pleaded guilty to a $1.5 million Medicaid fraud scheme. 

According to a March 17 news release from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, Janay Corbitt pleaded guilty to theft and three counts of identity theft. Ms. Corbitt stole multiple identities to open and operate two behavioral health agencies in the Dayton, Ohio area. Ms. Corbitt also stole the identities of several licensed counselors and used their credentials to bill Medicaid for behavioral health services. 

Ms. Corbitt’s sentencing is scheduled for April 17.
