Providence puts $2M behind behavioral triage center in northern California

Providence Humboldt County put $2 million toward a joint project working to open a new behavioral health triage center in Arcata, Calif., the Eureka Times-Standard reported March 3.

The joint project includes Mad River Community Hospital in Arcata, Cal Poly Humboldt, Humboldt County and the state. The new center will be located on the Mad River campus and aims to alleviate pressure on local emergency rooms.

Construction is expected to begin this year, with an estimated completion date of late-2026 or early-2027.
