BayCare opens behavioral urgent care center

Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System has opened a new behavioral health urgent care center in New Port Richy, offering walk-in and same-day access to mental health and addiction services, Health News Florida reported Feb. 27.

The facility aims to provide timely intervention for individuals in crisis who may not require hospitalization but require more than routine care. 

The project was funded by nearly $3.6 million from Pasco County’s opioid settlement funds and is located on a campus that already offers inpatient detoxification and withdrawal management, allowing for seamless transition to higher levels of care when necessary.
