“The surveyors recognized our work to integrate psychiatric, addiction medicine and mental health services to treat the whole patient across the continuum of care, which is consistent with the needs of our community,” Jesse Tamplen, vice president of behavioral health services at John Muir Health, said in a July 12 company news release.

During the unannounced review April 26 to May 4, The Joint Commission reviewers evaluated the hospital’s compliance with industry standards in areas including emergency management, care environment, infection prevention and control protocols and medication management regimens.

“We commend John Muir Health for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care,” Mark Pelletier, RN, chief operating officer of accreditation and certification operations and chief nursing executive of The Joint Commission, said in the news release.
