California county to open behavioral health and recovery facility

Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is looking to open a new facility in Kern County, Calif., ABC affiliate KERO reported Nov. 22.

A $17 million grant from the Department of Health Care Service was approved by the county board of supervisors for the new facility, which will also be funded by a $1 million match from the county.

The facility will include a youth crisis stabilization unit and a family resource center. It isn’t expected to be completed until 2027, the report said.
