The Access Hub opened in early October and offers mental health services for adults age 18 and older who previously had to seek care in emergency rooms during a mental health or substance use crisis. It is operated by Washington County Mental Health Services.
The hub is based on the “living room” model of care, which aims to make patients feel autonomous, respected and socially included. The center accepts patients without a formal referral.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
