Locations for the clinics haven’t been set, but Children’s Wisconsin is aiming to open the first one this fall, with the next two to open in 2024 and 2025. Locations will be determined based on community need, existing facilities’ ability to accommodate a clinic and existing partnerships.
The clinics will provide walk-in mental healthcare for patients between 5 and 18 who are experiencing a mental health emergency as an alternative to going to the emergency room, the report said.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
