New York Gov. Kathy Hochul released new data tracking programs created and expanded through the state’s $1 billion mental health initiative launched in 2023 and additional investments.
The New York State Office of Mental Health compiled information spanning 23 areas of the continuum of care and published the results in plain-language infographics on its website, according to a July 23 news release from Ms. Hochul’s office.
The data is organized into four categories: access to care, prevention and youth services, crisis services, and specialized services, according to a July 23 news release. The agency said it plans to refresh the infographics periodically throughout the year as new data becomes available.
Programs highlighted in the access to care category include Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, inpatient care, clinic expansion initiatives and the mental health workforce. Other sections feature programs such as HealthySteps, Youth Safe Spaces, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, crisis stabilization centers, Critical Time Intervention, Assertive Community Treatment and Safe Options Supports.
