The California Department of Public Health will hold a stakeholder meeting July 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to gather feedback on emergency regulations establishing nurse-to-patient staffing standards for acute psychiatric hospitals.
Here are three things to know:
- The meeting is part of the department’s ongoing effort to develop final regulations after adopting emergency regulations June 1, according to a July 16 all facilities letter shared with Becker’s.
- Topics will include night nurse-to-patient staffing models, the role of mental health workers, patient admission trends and process, dedicated pediatric units, development of acute psychiatric hospital policies and procedures, and additional safety measures.
- CDPH said it plans to hold at least one additional stakeholder session focused on other topics, according to the release.
