Houston-based PsychPlus has acquired Koa Health, a multinational digital mental health company, to expand its technology-enabled psychiatric and therapeutic care network. The companies announced the deal June 23.
The combined organization now serves more than 6 million patients across the U.S., Europe, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. PsychPlus operates more than 200 clinical locations in the U.S., built over five years on its proprietary clinical technology platform.
Koa Health’s digital mental health products were developed with researchers from Harvard Medical School, the University of Oxford and Massachusetts General Hospital, and are supported by 23 peer-reviewed clinical studies and 56 patents.
“The combination of PsychPlus’s rapidly growing technology-enabled clinical network and Koa Health’s digital-first care delivery model creates a new global blueprint for mental health care,” said Faisal Tai, MD, CEO of PsychPlus.
Oliver Harrison, MD, Koa Health’s former founder and CEO, becomes president of PsychPlus.
PsychPlus also addressed prior reports linking it to a May 2026 Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The company said that filing involved P Health, a separate, inactive entity with shared ownership, and had no connection to PsychPlus’s clinical or financial operations. That filing has since been dismissed.
