Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health has received a $20 million commitment from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to expand pediatric behavioral health services in Nevada.
The funding will support a pediatric behavioral healthcare model focused on expanding access, improving continuity of care and delivering evidence-based treatment across the full continuum of pediatric mental health services, according to a May 13 news release from Intermountain.
The system is planning a 826,600-square-foot standalone children’s hospital as part of a broader effort to expand pediatric speciality care in the region, according to the release.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
